Mr. • Jaques, the ■ Government canning expert, has not (says our Manawatu corres- • pondent) succeeded ,in ■ satisfying the lady exhibitors in the bottled fruit class at the show by his not making awards while judg- > ing. Consequently: .'the matter is to be brought before the committee. It is understood Mr. Jaques refused awards because the bottles- of fruit contained no ■vacuum. lb'is:also unßerstood that the judging in the vegetable classes will be brought under the notice of the committeo by exhibitors. It may be interesting for exhibitors to noto that Mr. Allison , was selected as judge, but at the . last minute'ho was unable to accept, and another judge was substituted. fEATHEP.STDN' FRESH MILK ASSOCIATION. ■ • .'Tho annual rej>ort of the Featherston fresh Milk Association (says our special cor'espoiident) 3hows that of tho 1500 shares of £1 .each 1260 havo been subscribed.
