Tho Otira correspondent of the " Star" telegraphs that tho meeting between Mr/ M'Lean and the men engagod on the tunnol work yesterday was abortive. No mcnt was arrived at, tho discussion revealing tho existence of material differences between tlio contractors and the men. Thcro is a genoral expectation on the works that the men will bo called out, but it would be premature to make any dofinito statement yet. Another and final meeting will bo held to-night. '
