AUCKLAND TRAMWAY DISPUTE..
EMPLOYEES' STATEMENT. (BI TELEGEATH—MESS ASSOCIATION.)'' Auckland, June 29. In connection with tho dispute between tho Tramway Employees'. Union and the Company, for which a:special board of conciliation has been set up, Mr. Arthur Rosser, secretary to the Union, has filed a. statement of particulars of. the dispute, which includes the following:— • That conductor Herdson bo reinstated in his position and .given a satisfactory reason for his dismissal.
Tho general, manager shall givo a written guarantee that in future any employee being dismissed from tho service shall-be given a valid reason for his dismissal.
Any employee being sent to tho. head office for an alleged fault shall seo all reports made against him, and. havo tho right to call ovidence in his own bohalf, as inspectors'; reports are often found to bo misleading and exaggerated. Any inspector proved guilty of making misstatements .or false" roporfcs against employees shall bo .instantly dismissed. That' tho employeos of tho company shall not bo asked to work with any "blacklogs" who went back to work during tho last striko.
That in ordor to lighton tho labour of tho men, as well as to enauro tho safoty of tho travelling, public, tho company shall [bo compelled to 'instal either tho inagnetio or tho air brakes on the cars, aa tha present unaided hand brakes are a monaoo to public Bafety as well as entailing unnecessary labour on tho motorman.
That tho oompany shall bo colnpolled to pay duo . regard to the recommendations contained in tlis Auckland Tramway award.
