The so-called "thought-reading" games afford great amusement and stimulate curiosity, and most of them can be so modified by ingenious confederates as to remain mysteries for some time. His confederate then mentions several articles, asking whether each was the one "touched," and with thoughtful hesitation tho thought reader says "110" until tho-right one is mentioned. Tho clue is given in the article named, immediately before tho correct one, tho working partners having previously arranged 011 its character; for example,- it may be something made of glass, or iron, or having four legs, or somo other distinguishing [ factor. In another form of this - game the ! inside confederate touches tho'person speaking last beforo his partner leaves the room,
