Speaking at Birmingham with reference to the rumour about Ministerial changes, Mr.. Haldane (Secretary for War) declared that he would not abandon the War Office till ho had accomplished "the,weary work" ho bad undertaken. (Rec. June 27, 0.15 a.m.) London, Juno 26. ■ Lord Loreburn (the Lord High Chancellor) denies that ho intends to resign.
Tho "weary work" is the army reorganisation scheme, in connection with' which the militia yeomanry and volunteers aro somewhat slow to onlist in tho now territorialarmy, Tho rumour as to Ministerial changes was published in "The Timos," and is to tho effect that • Lord Loroburn (Lord High Chaucollor), will resign, and that Mr. Haldane (Secretary for War) will succeed to the Chancellorship, Mr. Winston Churchill (President of tho Board of Trade), becoming Secretary for War.
