THE PROPHET RUA,
Tho Prophet Rua, who arrived in Wellington on Wednesday, spent yesterday afternoon in surveying tho city, and many wore the curions eyes- that turned round to watch him as ho passed, for his dark flowing locks and calm tranquil expression would make him cbnspicuous anywhere. Rua does not sneak' English very well, hut what English ho does uso is clear "and almost devoid of accent. When a Dominio.v reporter went to sco liirn, ho had a complaint to mako. "Too much to' paper—too much to paper. Nepia, to paper, other place, to paper, too much." Ho proceeded to explain what he made the pilgrimage for—the development of tho gold in tlio Urowera country and the necessity for roads and schooling. The reporter inquired if ho had scon tho Nativo Minister. Tho reply was in tho affirmative, and tho reporter gathcrod that Mr. Carroll had told tho* Prophot to wait a whilo till ho consulted tho Cabinet. "Ho to good man," said Rua.
