Relations between them wero then broken off. Tho Shah's demand for tho surrender of somo persons whoso arrest ho had ordered, and Parliament's refusal, was ultimately followed by tho bombardment of tho Parliamentary Building. By tho order of tho Shah, martial law has now been proclaimed in Teheran. During yesterday's fighting bombs wero thrown, killing several soldiers and officials. Parliament Building and many houses in tho vicinity wero sacked by soldiers. . Tho Indo-European telegraph station was ander fire. Ono of the native staff was wonnded. It is reported that foreign residents aro in no danger. A number of editors took refuge in the British Legation. The British and Russian representatives requested tho Shah to take immediate steps to restore order. Thoy told tho Shah that their Governments hold him responsible for any unfortunato incidents occurring.' The Shah assured them that everything would be done to prevent further disturbances.
