'•" The Timessays that it. is rumoured in the lobby of the House of Commons that Lord Lorobum (Lord High Chancellor), will resign, and that Mr. Haldane (Secretary for War) will succeed to the Chancellorship,' Mr. Winston-Churchill, (President of the.Hoard of Trade), becoming Secretary for War. Lord Lorobnrn, _ formerly' Sir Robert Reid, is a very distinguished lawyer and. parliamentarian. Ho was made a G.C.M.S. for his ser-. vices on the Venezuelan boundary arbitration commission in 1899. Ho is aged 62 years. ■Mr. Haldane, aged 50, is ono of the most scholarly men in,the Commons, and has, a profound knowledge of constitutional law.
