REV. F. FLANAGAN.

FAREWELL LECTURE. With the exception of a few seats at the back and along the sides of the downstairs portion, the Town Hall was crowded last evening, when the Rev. F. Flanagan, Slum Missionary of London, .delivored the fare-well-lecture of his New Zealand tour. Tho; lecture was preceded ,by a recital of four items on the organ by Mr. T. C. Webb A.M., T.C.L., of Nelson. " The organist's selections included Gounod's " Marcho Militaire," "Elsie's Dream" (Wagner),. Handel's "Cuckoo Concert," and Lolir's "Gondolo Song." Tho recital was much appreciated. The Rev. F. Flanagan, who was received with applause, then delivored a most interesting lecture on "Snapshots.in London Slums." Many of tho photographs shown, said Mr. Flanagan, had been taken at grave risk to limb,'if not even to life. "Ofton wo did liot know whether tho click of the camera would bring us a photograph nr a brick—wo had to pick it up and run," ho said. In bidding farewell, Mr. Flanagan exnress'ed his appreciation of tho hospitality and kindness shown him on every side, and particularly mentioned the Hon. C. M. Luke and family, with whom he had resided.
