WHARF LABOURERS' UNION.

The monthly meeting of the Wharf Labourers Union was held last evening, the president. Mr. F. Burton, occupying! the, chair. There was a full attendance of members. . ■ It was decided to donate £o ss. tq the Sailors Rest. , Tho following were nominated as officers:. Mr. F. Burton; vice-president, r» T?* v a^acG > treasurers, Messrs. T. King, P. Dowling, and AY. Caddick; secretary, Messrs, A. L. Jones, D. M'Laren, G. Farland, and J. Bruton. The matter of an assistant secretary was held over till next meeting. The following delegates to the Waterside Workers Conference, which will commence about July 1, were elected: — Messrs. D. M'Laren, E. Kelley, F. Burton, G. Farland, and A. L. Jones. A letter was' received from the Gisborne Waterside Workers' Union'in reference to somo men who declined work at the award rate. The letter did not give full particulars, and discussion was adjourned until the Conference.
