SUFFERING FROM APPENDICITIS. HI TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPTRIGHT. London, June 22. Tho Bishop of Birmingham has undergone an operation for appendicitis. The Bishop of Birmingham (Dr. Gore) is a leader of the High Church Social Reformers, and an active worker against sweating in every form. A recent writer in the "Edinburgh Review," who is opposed to tho Bishop's viows on the Catholic position' of the Anglican Church, and also to his advanced opinions on Socialism, states that Bishop Gore, "partly by his personal eloquence, highminded disinterestedness, and splendid generosity, and partly' by knowing exactly what ho wants, and having fnll courage of hife opinions, has at present nn influenco in the Anglican Church which is probably far greater than that of any other man."
