• The Gray Combination, of billiardists, whic! is dud shortly in Wellington, is touring thi South Island. Master Georgo Uray, wno it still in his teens, was pitted against Mr, Muir, who is generally-'regarded as one ol the best amateurs in the Dominion. Thi game was witnessed -by a large.' number of enthusiastic billiard players.- The boy led off with a 24 break,, then in his next twa cues made 23, which tJook his total to 47. Following these preliminary skirmishes, tlw lad put up a .magnificently compiled 224, 'and then completed game'of 300 with a nice run of 33 unfinished. The; boy averaged 75 per innings; he got a greai- reception, which, of course, he thoroughly deserved. Mr. Muir. meanwhile, only succeeded-. in securing 11 points, but he had few.chances.The Graj Billiard Combination, of-which thp.boy is the leading light, is expected : to arrive m Wellington at an early date, and-will'give exhibitions at several i of the , .leading locaJ clubs.
