BRITISH COMMERCE DECLINES £13,000,000 IN APRIL. Tho value of British trade with countries abroad was in April £13,39-1,320 less than in April last year. The Board of Trade returns show that there wa3 a declino of £9,682,792 in imports, and of £3,711,528 in exports. Tho totals for April last and April, 1907, are: — T April, 1908. April, 1907. Imports ... £47,099,912 £56,782,704 Exports ... . £30,705,338 £34,416,866 The falling off in imports is mainly duo to n decrease of £3,424,404 in raw materials and articles mainly unmanufactured. All classes of imported goods under this head, except materials for paper making, show dbclinos, of which tho principal are:—
