The. lecture delivered last night by Miss Christie at the Theosophical Society's room drew a crowd of interested inquirers. Tho subject was "Prayers for tho Living and the Dead." Prayer, tho lecturer said, worked on the three planes, physical, emotional, and. intellectual. Nothing had moro effect upon the body than tho mind. Tho , groat eftects of our dosires and prayers were felt -in later lives, allowing that tho law re-incarnation was in operation. Man got nothing but that which ho desired and worked for in provious lives. The lecturer pointed out that study helped to bring the answers to our prayers. The command to pray without ceasing was a good one for man to follow . The _ lecturer deplored tho fact that Protestantism had deprived its followers of that great right to pray for tho dead. Sho pointed out that tho Lord's Prayer was found in Buddhism, Hinduism, and was given bv all Masters.'
