EON. J. D. ORMOND BUYS BIG TERRITORY. A Press Association cablegram from Bris banc, states that tho Hon. J. D. Ormond of Hawko s Bay, New Zealand, has .purchased tho St. Helen's station, near Pittsworth, comprising eighteen thousand acres for sixty thousand pounds. ' -Other Queensland properties aro under offer to Mr. Ormond. Earlier this month thorn were rumours that * Hawke's Bay syndicate was prepared to spend £25,000 on Darling Downs' coun* try. Wairarapa correspondent then wrot# (Jnno 12) as follows" It is underotand that the statement refers to the Hon J. D. Ormond, Mr. G. P. Donnelly, and another. Some time ago Mr. G. P. Donnolly cabled for the option of an estate of 18,000 acrte near _ Pittsworth, and it was freely Knntioncd in Toowoomba that he meant to ( buy the property for his neplieiv. It is very probable.that a definite anpouncenient on tho' subject will bo made shortly .after Messrs. Donnelly, E." J. Watts, and Ormond, liave' returned from their visit to Queensland." '
