EMPLOYERS' FEDERATION.
9 QUESTION OF "AIDING AND , ABETTING." •! The Advisory Board of tho Employers' Federation met yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members. In view of the Hon. J. A. Millar's published intention to introduce legislation early in tho session to define "aiding and abetting" in connection with strikes, and that the majority of the affiliated bodies wore in favour of such a course being adopted, it was. decided not to institute proceedings in the meantime against tho various unions alleged to be concerned in aiding and abetting the Blackball strike. . A letter was received from tho DeputyChief Inspector of tho Labour Department (Mr.'F. W. Rowley), intimating that it had been decided to take proceedings against tlio men who went out on strike at the Wanganui Freezing Works. Members oxpressed satisfaction at the Department's' intentions. Tho Organising Committee reported; that the secretary (Mr* W. Pryor) had visited various parts of the Dominion, with excellent results.
It was decided to send a deputation to wait upon the annual conference of the Farmers' 'Unions, which will bo held iu July at Wellington, to endeavour to securex the affiliation of the Farmers' Unions throughout tho Dominion with tho Federation, for mutual protection in industrial matters.
