BRAYBROOK COLLISION.
MILBURN'S EVIDENCE. . BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION—COFTKIQHI. (Rec. June 18, 11.5 p.m.) Melbourne, Juno 18. At the inquiry into the railway collision at' Braybroolc (Sunshine), where a Bendigo train collided with &■ Ballarat ti ain Mil" burn, driver of the Bendigo train, repeatedly broko down wkilo giving his evidence. He deposed that he tested tho Brakes when he took chargo of tho engines. They wcro in perfect order. When approaching tho distant signal at Sunshine, at a speed of fifty miles an hour, ho applied the brakes, r which appeared to grip properly, and reduced tho speed to forty miles. Then the train jumped forward again. Ho made an emergency application of the brakes, but they failed to act properly. Milburn denied uttering tlio words after J the accident: "There is no one to blame but myself."
