DRAUGHT HORSES.
Opinions doubtless will always diffor'about what is the best stamp of draught-horse, or any other class of horse. Against, the tendency, on the one hand to demand something light and activo for the farmer's use, there is an equally strong, demand for something heavy and suitable for! the heavy haulage of the cities. Aufckland breeders of this heavy animal apparently have- not been well satisfied with the quality of' judging they have had; in the past, and tho Auckland A. and P. Association has applied to the Manawatu A. "and P. Association for the name of a judge, who, in addition to knowing something _ about draught-horse breeding generally, is also conversant with the special needs .of the city contractor and carrier; It will be interesting to see on what gentleman the finger. of the Manawatu Association alights in .the search for a judge of tho desired qualities. ■
