| At : the Empire Hotel last evening Mr: 1 Guy H. Scholelield, who is leaving Wellington to take up a newspaper correspondency ' in London, was entertained by the pressmen of tho city. The chair \ra.s occupied by the Hon. 11. A. Lougbrfan, M.L.C., who, in proposing Mr. Scholelield's health, rofet red to the excellent-* quality of the . journalistic work he had done in Wellington, Ho wished him bon voyage, and a successful career in his new Bphare. Messrs. J. R. Gibbons ("Evening Post"), Pierco G. Frecth ("Times"), E. Hall (Dominion), and W. H. Atack (Press Association) also spoke words of sincere congratulation to Mr. Scholelield, who replied in suitable terms. Mr, Scholefiold, who is to be married this afternoon, will leave for London at tho end' of tho month. Messrs. Harconrt and Co.'will hold a sale of high-class office furniture and requisites at tßeir rooms," Lambton Quay, 7 : at_ 1 p.m.' to. morrow. The goods will be.on view to-day. Tho annual dance of the Wellington College Old Boys' Association: will be hold to-night.
