WELLINGTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Wellington Hospital Trustees was held yesterday morning. Present'—tho Hon. 0. M. Luke, M.L.C. (Chairman), Messrs. J. Danks, G. Nash, W. Hales, F. G. Bolton, J. W. M'Ewan, ll* C. Kirk, and G. T. London. FINANCE. The statement of receipts 'and expenditure was as follows:—Receipts: Balance forward, £250 6s. 10d.; rents, £1.33 6s. 6d.; outpatients, £17 14b. ; in-patients—office, £121" 85..6 d., collector, £1110s. 6d.; contributions, 195.; sundries, £3'Bs. 3d.; total, £2838 10s. 7d. Expenditure: Stamp department, £4 3s. 4d.; Burgoyne Co., £20 7s. 9d.; City Council, £6; New Zealand Ins. Co., £ 17s. 6d.; wages, £118 Bs.. 4d.; F. de J. Clere, £9 15s:; J. Welfcby, £7 14s. ; balance, £26.70 14s. Bd.; total, £2838 10s. 7d. , Tho comparative statement showed that the wages for the corresponding fortnight of last year amounted to £164 7s. 3d. The inpatients' fees; as given above, showed a great increase over the previous fortnight,'when the total was £87 4s. The in-pationts' foes for the corresponding fortnight of last year were £71 17s. Id. . PATIENTS. It was reported that there wero 216 patients in the Generfil Hospital, 35 in the Victoria Hospital for Chronic Invalids, 25 in the Soddon 'Consumptive Hospital, total" 276. The figures for the corresponding period of last year were, respectively, 225, 41, and 18, total, 284. HOUSE COMMITTEE REPORT. ; Tho House Committee recommended: —That the' laundryman's wages be increased to £2 10s. per week; th&t'a now sterilizer be procured for the" operating theatre ; that '200 taupita trees be.procured; that thejnaintenance accounts to the amount of £9l 3s. 6d. be written off. The report was adopted. THE HONORARY MEDICAL STAFF. A return showing tho number of visits paid by tho .honorary medical staff during tho months of April and May last was presented. Tho totals were as fqlov.;:—Dr. AT Loan (surge6n), 53; Dr. Begg "(physician), 39; Dr. Collins (surgeon)/ 35; Dr. Faulke (surgeon), 34; Dr. Herbert (physician), 26; Dr. Harty (ophthalmic surgeon)i 26;. Dr. Henery (physician, 21; Dr. Gibbs (physician), 18; Dr. James (surgeon)', 11; Dr.' Kendall (consulting (ophthalmic surgeon), 3; Dr. Adams, was absent on leavo.
The Chairman t said that the attendances were, very satisfactory. Mr. London: Somo of them.The Chairman mentioned that the fowness of the attendances oredited to Dr. Kendall was duo to tho 'fact that his position was a consultative one. Dr. James nad had three weoks' leave .of absence. His attendances previously had been tumorous, and two years ago he headed tho list. ATTENDANCES AT COMMITTEES.,, Another return, showed the attendances oftho Trustees at tho meetings of tho several committees from November, 1907. It was as follows: — Finance. —Hon. C. M. Luke, M.L.C., 10; Mr. J. Danks, 10; Mr. London, 9; Mr. Bolton, 1; Mr. Pearco, 2. - Leasehold. —Hon. C. M. Luke, M.L.C., 3; Mr. It. Clement Kirk, 3; Mr. J. London, 3; Mr. F. 6. Bolton, 3; Mr. A. C. Pearco, 1. House—Hon. C. M. Luko, M.L.C., 11; Mr. J. Danks, 14; Mr. 6. London, 14; Mr. G. Nash, 12; Mr. J. W. M'Ewan, 9; Mr. W. H. Hales, 9; Mr. R. Clement Kirk, 9; Mr. A. C. Pearco, S: Mr. F. 6. Bolton, 4. Mr Bolton oxplained that he had resigned his position 011 tho Finance Committee, after attending 0110 meeting .Ho had attended every meeting of the Leasehold Committeo, and he thought that more than three were held. The Chairman: The attendances were not taken on every occasion. Mr. Bolton added that ho had previously told his fellow-members that lie would frequently bo unable to attend tho meetings of tho House Committee 011 Thursdays, as Harbour Board meetings were usually: held on that day. • '
