You may bo assured of a hearty, enthusiastic reception." Mr. Hamer returned from Rotorua on Saturday night and left for Wellington yesterday to .confer with the Premier and Ministers on various matters iii connection with tho visit of tho American fleet. At Rotorua a programme has been arranged for 500 visitors. Tho events will include. tho opening'of the new bath houses in tho sanatorium- grounds, a number of characteristic Native entertainments, and visits to the chief places of thermal activity. Bunodin. Christcluirch, and Port Chalmers havo signified their intention of sending flags to Auckland. ' A Press Association, cablo from .Fiji states that Admiral Sporry 'notifies that the fleet will'not visit Fiji. The representatives of tho Auckland, Avondalcr and Tnkapuna Racing Clubs mot' tho members of Executive, Fleet Committee tliiu afternoon in r°gard to the proposed race meeting durinc Fleet week, in respect to which some technical difficulties have arisen. Sir Joseph Ward told a "Mnnawatu Times" representative to-day 'that •it was considered probablo that Southern visitors to Auckland during tho visit of the American fleet would 'be convoyed right through by the Main Trunk route.
