A very pretty tea was given by Miss Olive Gore to.her girl friends yesterday afternoon at her homo in Aurora Terrace. Tho draw-ing-room was adorned with quantities of lovely roses, which had been grown at Bramerton in the Wairarapa, and sent down to delight Wellington eyes, so long unused to roses. Tho tea table was decorated also with rose 3 and violets. Miss Gore received in a very pretty frock of whito silk flowered with blue, worn over a laco bodice, on which thero wero touches of turquoiso blue velvot. During tho afternoon songs wero sung by Mis 3 Gore, Miss Eileen Waul, and Miss M'Tavish. Among tho other guests wero Mrs. Von Zedlitz, Mrs. Latham, Mrs. M. Donniston, and Mrs. H. Gore, and Misses FitzGcrald, D. Johnston, L. Brandon, Medley, Simpson, and Nathan (-2). Mrs. (Dr.) Tripe, who has been visiting Christclmrch, has returned to Wellington, and has brought- with her Miss Wigley, who will bo her visitor for a time. Mrs. Bean was in Wellington with her mother during last week, tho week in which occurred the anniversary of the lato Mr. Seddon's death. Mrs. Bean has now returned to her home in Christchurch. , Tho marriage of Mr. Guy H. Scholefield to Miss Adela Breo will take place to-morrow afternoon. The Kelburno Ladies' Bowling Club have issued invitations for a progressive euchro party to bo iiivcir at tho Kiosk on Thursday evening, July 2. : Several fjirls are to make their debut at the danco Mrs. Fulton is giving at tho Masonic Hall this week.
The "British Australasian" publishes a detailed account of tho marriage of Miss Muriel Teschemaker, second daughter of Mr. Teschemaker (one time of New. Zealand), to Commander Murra D. Murray Anderson, H.M.S. Cumberland, which took placo at Holy Trinity Church, Brompton, on April 29. The R-ev. P. Clementi Smith officiated. The bride was gowned in whito satin, entirely veiled in chiffon, surmounted with a robe of Tambour lace, worked round tho hem with a chain of violet leaves in padded satin, veined in silver thread. The corsage was draped with raro old Brussels lace, gift of mother of bridegroom, which its two centuries of age had mellowed to a deep ivory. From a high empire belt of soft satin and silver 1 tissue fell the lace train, outlined with tho satin leaf ombroidery. Tho veil of soft undressed ' tulle was over a coronet of orango blossoms and leaves. She carried a shower bouquet. Her bridesmaids, tho Misses Violet and Gladys Teschemaker, sisters of brido', Miss Addington, and, Miss Sandham, wore frocked in palo applo blossom, pink ninon do soie, scooped out ovei; vests of pin-tucked tulle, and decorated with deep-bibs of palo pink filet net, worked ,in cords of pink floss silk and gold thread. The folded skirts woro made in cascade form, trimmed with tho French knots and filet lace, largo charlottes of laco, trimmed with pink roses, and hyacinth velvet knots completed the effect. Thoy carried bouquets of roses and rhododondrons, and wore hats of pale pink silk and straw, lined with mauvo, which wero wreathed in wisteria with charming ofleet. Captain W. Hastings Anderson (Chester' Hoyiment) acted as best man. After tho ceremony the guests jvere entertained at 9 Egeri,o/i Gardens.
