FIRST BRITISH "SKYSCRAPER"

LIVERPOOL OFFICE BUILDING 300 FEET HIGH. The first "skyscraper" in Britain will be built at Liverpool, whore the Corporation have authorised the construction of an offico building rising to a height of 300 ft. abovo the road level. The site of tho now building which will be used as tho offices of a Liverpool assurance company, is opposite the Prince's landing-stage on the bank of the Morsoy. The building has been designed entirely in ferro-concrote. The great height of the new offioes is shown by a comparison with tho following figures of some familiar public buildings:— Towor Bridgo 142 feet. Monument 202 feet. Big Ben Tower 318 feet, St. Patil's Cathedral 866 feet.
