Polls, on proposals to borrow £4500 , for tlio Lansdowne high-pressure water scheme and £2500 for the Opaki water- supply were taken ■on Saturday, and both were carried by large majorities. On ; the Lansdowno schome 10D votes were recorded—94 for and 15 against—and for the .Opaki scheme 30 votes recorded—26 for and 4 against. • A three-fifths majority was required iu oach case. ■ .
