NEW BIG BATTLESHIP.

The new Dreadnought, the building of which will begin at./ Portsmouth-, in December, will be an improvement upon the St. Vincent, and will cost. 2J millions. She will be completed in IS liionths! i THE ST. VINCENT. : The St. Vincent will be an improved Dreadnought, and"she will -have a displacement-of 19,200 tons, as compared'.frith the' Dreadnought's 17,900 and the Bellerophon's 18,600. The St. Vincent's indicated horse-powor will be greater than that of either, of these vessels, and it is understood that-a speed of 22-knots is aimed at. Hor armament will bo similar to that of the Dreadnought, but an alteration will be made in the after turrets. The St. Vincent's two after turrets on the centre.lino will be so arranged that one caii, fire .'-.ovorv the' ether, which, in the case of the Dreadnought, cannot be done. Another of tho latest Dreadnoughts, the Rodney, is to have a displacement of 20,000 tons, and* will be armed with ten 12inch guns and guns of smaller calibre.
