The report of'the Finance Committee to tho following works: —Abattoirs, To Aro baths'; «ttensioti of water service to high-lying districts and suburbs; duplicating water mains to Wainui, Hutt pipe bridge, street widening Willis S,treet„ street, widening Manners Street,.'library at Thorndon, storm-water drainage for Island Bay district; purchase' of 'gas: works,' street lavatories, workmen's homes; public markets, improvement of milk supply, Oriental Bay sea walj, fire brigade extensions'and. stations, crematorium, additional expenditure for reserve including reclamation at Kilbirnie, additional' expenditure for drainage to outlying districts."

Councillor Biss will also move:—"That the Tramway and Electric Lighting Committee bo instructed to report .to the Council on the capital expenditure which ft is anticipated will bo necessary during tho ensuing twelve months, the report {o show—(lj Tho order in which the works should'be undertaken. (2) Tho. cost of each work. (3) The committee's proposals for raising tho necossary money. Tho. roport to cover the following:—Extension of tramway to ; Wadestown, extension of tramway to Miranui, extension of Wallace Street tram to Adelaide Road, additional plant at power-house, additional plant at olectriot light ' station, >. duplication of condenser discharge at power house, purchase of Miramar lino within the city boundary, erection of Thorndon tramway offices and purchase of land for same, purchase of land for car sheds at Kilbirnie, boosters and cables for Island Bay service, now rolling rfocls, extension of Constable Street tram to Kilbirnie." ■ '
