Miss Effie Macdougall, who has been in Wellington for the last week or two, returned to Masterton oil Saturday. ■ Mr. and Mrs. Hoaton Rhodos liavs taken Mrs. Pratt's house in Hill Street for the session. Mr. Stott has sold his charming house in Hobson Street to Mrs. M. A. 'Williams. It is Mr. Stott's intention to build at Tren-, tliam. i The wedding of Mr. A. E. Lister, of Wellington, and Miss Evelyn Marion Warner, youngest daughter of Mr. Thomas Warner, of Masterton,- was celebrated at the,residence of the bride's parents on Friday, writes our Wairarapa correspondent. The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Bickncll, of Groytown, and Miss Mildred Bannister, of Masterton; Mr. T. TV. Warner, of Ngahauranga,'was best man,, while the ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. T. Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Lister intend to reside in Wellington. Mrs. John Strang, of Gladstone, ; accompanied by her daughters, is at present on a sis months' holiday visit' to Sydney. Miss I. Louth, of tho Wellington Telephone Exchange', who has been transferred to.Palmerston North, wr.s tho recipient on Saturday last of useful gifts from the staffs as a mark of esteem. ■' On Saturday afternoon a delightful children's party was given' by Mrs. W. Myers at her home on the Terrace, which seemed for the timo_ to overflow with jolly little boys and daintily-dressed little maidens. They had games and dancing, and a delicious tea, and at the end of the afternoon they were taken to a room whero there was a fasefnating Christmas tree covered with tiny coloured candles and desirable offerings for the, children, and here Santa Claus himself, white haired,. scarlet robed, and smiling, distributed presents with a libera] hand much to the .delight of the, little ones. The several grown-ups who assisted at tho revels •appeared to enjoy tho'afternoon every bit as much as the children.
