Tlio death occurred at.Foxton on Thursday night of Mrs. James Coley, a very old resident of that district, and mother of the Messrs. Coley, well known in flax-milling circles. Mrs. ■ Coley, who was 78 years of
ago, had been. ailing: for some littlo time prior to .her , decease. She is survived by sis sons, three daughters; forty-four grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. The funeral takes plado at Foxton to-day. It is rumoured that arrangements are being made for a Charity Ball to bo given next' month in aid of tho funds of the Lady Plunket Contre of the Girls' Realm/Guild. Mr. and Mrs. F. Hutchinson, of Rissirigton, Hawke's Bay, intend to leave by the Atlienic on Thursday next for a,trip to England. The Misses Izard, of Queensland, are staying with Miss Izard in Christchurch. Miss Fulcher, of tho Zenana Mission, is the guest of Mrs. Hoby, of Woolcombe Street. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Kebbcll intend to spend tho next' three months .in Wellington. A Methodist Ladies' Guild has been formed at Brooklyn in connection with the Methodist Forward with Mrs. Pierard as president , and Mrs. Donald as secretary, to make arrangements for the opening services and conversazione, which are to be held at Fullford's Hall, Brooklyn,' on June 21 and 26.
