PORTRAIT OF CHARLES I.
An old painting, believed to bo an original portrait of Charles 1., by Vandyck, .has been discovered in V.iemia by Frau Minna Hogel, a well-known picture restorer. Tlife whereabouts of tho work for the past 260 years is not explained, but it is stated that it was purchased recently in Vienna for a moderato price. Fran Hogel, who is a high authority on old paintings, says that the colouring of the .hair, eyes, and mouth is conclusive proof that tho work is "original, while tolorably certain that tho painting is a Vandyck, Frail Hogol thinks theio io a bare possibility that it mag be a liukifla.
