LAND BOARD'S ADMINISTRATION.
Sir, —"What is sauce for tho gooso is evidently not sauce for tlio gander," as is shown by tho action. of certain. land hoards who dolo out tho gratuities-of land to applicants —somo favoured few of-tho right political colour are liberally treated with a; few thousands of acres, while. doubtful or • less favoured individuals get short commons. It would bo interesting to know the exact amount of acreage now held by members of tho boards, "their sisters and their cousins, and their aunts." At the coming election this should be a consideration for ■ tho public, and also for the Minister for Lands and his ' co : worker3 1 in tho "Ministry.. Such a t state of affairs as now exists with regard to the quantity held by different board members is_ not. calculated to give confidence in a Ministry which professes to be- fair to tho small holders of land in general. An, inquiry should bo made and publicly knownana so far as can be ascertained, tho number of rolations whose names have been made use of to gain the acreage. Has our Minister for Lands tho courage.to bring this forward? —I am etc., ONLOOKER. June 8. ■!
