• It will be remembered that the Wellington Savage Club nobly decided that this year it would hold two "ladies' evenings." The first of . these is to be given at the Town Hall on Saturday, July 25. The Wellington Racing Club's annual ball, which is always one of tho biggest social affairs of the soason, is to be held on Thursday,. July 23, thejTown Hall. At St. Barnabis.Church, iKhandallah, yesterday afternoon,VMiss lima Leonard, daughter of Mr. James Leonard, of Khandallah, was married to Mr. George .Richardson, eldest son-of Sir. J. H. Richardson. The bridesmaids were tho Misses Leonard (sisters of the bride), the Misses Richardson (sisters of the bridegroom), and Miss .Vosper. . The Rev.. J. .Vosper, of Johnsonville, was the officiating clergyman. After the wedding, 'a reception was held at the home of tho bride's parents. • \ Our Wairarapa correspondent writes: — Mr. li\ Court, of, Wailiakeko, are to leave this week on a fortnight's holiday in the Auckland' district. They .intend to travel by the Main Trunk Line. . Miss Higginson is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Tilley, in Blenheim. Some months' ago the lady members of # thp Ipcal branch of the Navy League-were invitfid to visit and inspect .--the training ship Amokura, but the visit had to ber postponed. Now the Amokura is .again in port, and .the captain has invited tho ladies to have afternoon toa oil the vessel ,to-morrow afternoon. Boats , will leave .the landingstage next tho Thorndon Baths at 2.30, 2.45, and' 3 p.m. Should tho weather be unsuitable to-morrow, the visit .will be made on Friday..-, The. ladies will be the guests of Captain ' and .Mrs. Hooper.
