Institute,; the. question of the visit of feachers iiiiu inspectors to was considered Hie secretary 0 f the Education Board forwarded for the consideration of tho Institute a copy of a letter from Mrs. Ord. Marshall hon., secretary to the League of tho Empire, relating' to tho interchange of teachers and inspectors, Tho Institute cordially •approved of tho suggestions, and decided to forward the following rccommondatious to the Board:—(1) That this Institute has much pleasure in recommending tho Board to encourage teachers, and inspectors to make the proposed visit to England. (2) That those" toachers and inspectors who are granted this opportunity should report to tho Board on their observations, and all such reports should he' published. - (3) As the great majority of teachers are not ablo to boar tlie expense of so long a visit as would be necessary, this Institute suirsjests that the Board, indeooudently, or with the help of tho .Education Department,.should arrange a scheme wliereliy.oach year a few .of our most deserving teachers might bo granted leave at a salary of not less tlmn £].o0 a year. These grants of leave miglit be considered'professional scholarships to he . guarded by restrictions. Similarly inspector:; should periodically ho selected for the .same honour.
