Mr. F. A. Hosking, of Mastertonj explains that in his interview which appeared in our issue of yesterday, ho meant that'' one-'and-a-hall, not one-and-a-quarter sheep 1 country in New Zealand was worth £7 10si per acre, against £3 10s. per acre in Queensland. With reference to the great drought 0f'1902, Mr. Hosking says that it lasted only nine months, after which the country thrived wonderfully. There were, however, other smaller droughts on the Darling Downs in the same half-cen-tury.
