CRUELTY TO SOLDIERS. • ONE OF THEM COMMITS SUICIDE. OFFENDERS IMPRISONED. BY TELEGRAPH —PREPS ASSOCIATION—COFTMGW ' Berlin, Juno 5. Four sergeants and four bombardiers wero court-martiajlod at Berlin for ill-troating soldiors. Thero were GOO cases against Sergeant Thamme, and forty against Sergeant Schurz. One soldior committed suicido' owing to Thammo's cruelty. Others wero daily Hogged, whipped, and belaboured with lists, straps, and sticks. Kccruits wore compelled to run the gauntlet of soldiors armed with rods. Thamme was sontoncod to fifteen months' imprisonment and reduction to tho ranks; tho others to torms not exceeding three months' imprisonment.
