MAE TON. LICENSING COMMITTEE. Before proceeding with the applications at thn annual meeting of the Manjtwatn Licensing Committee yesterday, the chairman said that ho wished publicly to state that everything had been quite as it should be. Tho Health Department had been most indefatigable. in supplementing tho efforts of the committee, and tho committeo had bestowed most painstaking attention to tho work. During tho last three years there had been a marked improvement in all tho hotels in tho Manawatu licensing district. All ,the applications were granted, subject to the Health Officer's requirements in several hotels being complied with. PAHIATC A. The Woodlands Hunt Club held a successful run on Tuesday, on Mr. Mcxted's property. The weather was line, and about 40 followed the hounds. Tho jumps were stiffer than usual, and as several youngsters were tried, throe spills were registered. Tho members of tho club and their friends wore entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs.. Mexted.
