• DR. TIDSWELL'S FINAL REPORT. ' Sir William Lyne, tho Federal Minister for Trade, has received a report from Dr. Tidswoll, tho New South Wales medical-.officer, who watched tho Danysz rabbit destruction experiments on behalf of tho Commonwealth, in which it was recounted that 1 the virus which Dr. Danysz had brought-to Australia had,been returned to him. Sir-William Lyne said this ended the experiment as far as Australia was concerned. It had been proved that the virus would not. have the results anticipated.. Dr. Tidswell had informed hinj that there was a microbe already in Australia _ which was very similar to tlio one used in the Danysz experiments, but it did not destroy rabbits. The amount of £776 on tho additional Estimates included the paymont' for Dr. Tidswell's services, the purchase of animals, and the erection of buildings on Broughton Island in connection with tho experiments. Ho believed a further payr mont of a small sum would bo reouired- by tlio New South Wales Government. '
