A £2060 CHEQUE. BY TELIOIUPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COFTIkiem (Rec. June 2, 9.45 p.m.) Sydney, June 2. At a large gathering in the Town Hall, His Excellency the Governor (Sir Harry Rawson) presented M. A. Noble, the New South Wales cricketer, with a cheque for £2060 and a silver , tea and ctiffeo' service, the result of the-movement initiated/after .the visit' of. the English team, ill recognition of his scrviees to cricket. (Rec. Juno 3, 0.50 a.m.) •j Sydney, June 2. The total subscriptions were ' £2221,- the. balance' being expended in the; silver service. . Noble, in responding, said he had not intended to accompany the next team to England, but, in the face of this handsome testimonial, could not refuso to go.
