THE SYDNEY BOAT. On Saturday the Union Company's steamer Maitai left Sydney for Wellington direct, and is due -here to-morrow. She has 61 :eaclisaloon and steerage passengers for Dominion ports. ■ THE ARAPAWA. The Patea Shipping Company has been advised- by cable that work on the new steamer Arapawa is progressing satisfactorily. The vessel was framed, on May 28, and she should bo finished on time. .! TURAKINA POR LONDON. Yesterday afternoon the Now Zealand Shippirfg Company's steamer Turakiua loft Wellington'for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete loiding -operations. THE ■ NORFOLK LEFT LIVERPOOL Cabled advice received by the New Zealand and African Steam Ship Company reports that the Fedoral-Houlder-Shire Line steamer Norfolk left Liverpool on Saturday for New Zealand ports via Australia. After calling at Australia the vessel goes to Auckland,_ prior to- coming to Wellington,- where she is due , about August 12. i GOVERNMENT; STEAMERS. Advices received by the Marine Department , report that the Tutanekai is still engaged in buoy work at Kaipara, and will, probably be there all this week. The Hinom'oa, which ' arrived at' the Bluff on Sunday from tho Antipodes, will immediately procced to the. Wnipnpa Point lighthouse, and then to Central Island and Puysegur Point lighthouses. From there tho Hinemoa will afterwards go to tho lighthouses in the West Coast Sounds . v of the South Island. .. ■ Mr. Scott, late mate of the Tasman, has been appointed master of the Kaiapoi. trader Wootton. . \ i It is expected that_ the Union Company's Cirra steamer Kini will leave Greymouth-to-.. night for Wellington.
