TRIP TO THE CAMPBELL AND AUCKLAND ISLANDS. (BY TELEGRAPH.—PKEBS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, Juno 1. ; H.M.S. Pegasus arrived back at 'Lyttelton yesterday from the Campbell Islands and Auckland Islands. The cruiser's wet decks and blackened funnel, and the rusty stains on her sides showed the " dirty " weather sho had gone through. At tho, Campbell Islands the provision depot was found intact, and tho Auckland Island depots .were also found to be untouched and in good order. The Pegasus next steamed to Port Ross, and anchored in Erebus Cove, where 55 oases of provisions were landed and'placed in the depot there. Large numbers of . sea lions were seen in Sandy Bay, and the boats' crews had to keep thorn off with oars, as the big beasts approaohed tba visitors. Visits wpre also paid to Ross and Enderby Islands, where the boats were. found to be in good order. At 11 a.m. on Thursday last, 'the Pegasus set out on the return journey to Lj'ttclton. All on board are well, despite the'extremely cold weathor experienced. It is not known , how long tho Pegasus will rcma,iii at Lyttelton, as orders from Sydney' regarding her futuro movements are now being awaited.
