A GOOD BEGINNING., ' A representative meeting of dairymen (says', our' Manawatu correspondent) took place at Ashhurst, pn Friday night for tho purpose of ; discussing the , advisability of establishing a _ co-operative' dairy /company in that district. in' time ior 'next season. Mr.' W. ;H. - Vincent presided. Representatives were .also' present from various' other dairy factories, and addressed the meeting. It ;I was decided''that, 'in the opinion of the' meeting', a' co-operative company be formed in ' Ashhurst, ' with' the following direotors: —Messrs. Corrigan, Diltmer, Fra-' ser, Port, Hart, Gorter, and Prior. - Mr. Fraser was- appointed chairman. ~ . . Noarly 400 shares and 312 cows wore •guaranteed''in the room.
