Misses Estria and Doris Pepper were G. Pepper best man. The reception was held at Mrs/ Bell's. , On Saturday, a wedding was celebrated at the : of tho Saered Heart, when Mr. Reginald Skerman, of Feilding, was married to Miss Corrigan, of Wellington, the Rev. Father Hickson officiating. The brido wore -a' white satin dress, - with; tho usual veil. and wreath of orange blossom. Little Louie Corrigan, niece of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. Miss Putnam presided at the organ. On' Saturday afternoon, a very pretty little tea was given by Mrs. David Nathan, in honour of Miss Ola Humphrey. The tea-table was charmingly decorated with crimson Virginia crcejier, and, the scarlet' pimpernel 1 itself not'beirig a decorative'flower, tho frosted cakes, bo re the words " Scarlct.Pimpernol" in bright-coloured letters. Mrs. Nathan'received her guests in a, frock of pin kcrepe de chine, /trimmed' With exquisite cream lace. Among those prosent'were Miss Ola Humphrey, Lady Ward and Miss Ward, Mrs. Knox-Gilmer, Mesdames'Bcauchamp,' Rarikine-Brown, K. .Duncan, Stott, and Gilruth, arid tho Misses Seddon (2), Nathan (2),, Skorrett, Rose, Beauchamp (2), Jones; and Joseph; A wedding: of considerable interest was solemnised at tho-Carnarvon l Hall, Marton, last Wednesday, when Mr. Nugent Barron,' youngest son'of .Mr., C. C.'N. Barron, of Weiilington, was married: to Miss Frances May M'Kenzie, second daughter of Mr. Tom M'Kerizie, of " Clydes'dalo," Carnarvon. Tho bride (who was given -away by her-father) looked very pretty in a dress of moussclino do soio, with bridal veil and orango blossoms. Mr. E..R. Beckett acted as best man. Tho bride was attended by her sister, Miss Phyllis who wore a cream embroidered China silk, dress, with hat to match; After tho ceremony tho guests were entertained at the home of the bride's parents. In the eveningthe youg folk had a most enjoyable dance, which lasted till tho .small hours of the morning. ' ; ■ ' Sister'Fitwis Xavier, who for many years kept a private school in Wellington, and who later on, moved that; school to Seatoun, has 'found it .necessary, on account of .overwork, I to'retirej".and she-intends shortlyto go back ■to France.' On Saturday • afternoon, there was a gathering-of her old. pupils at Seatoun, when she.was presented by them with a purse of sovereigns as a mark 'of. their esteem. As a teacher, Sister Francis Xavier met with great success.'
