MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD. ' , The monthly meeting of tho Wellington Technical Education Board was held last night. There wore present: Messrs. J. P. , ; Luke (chairman), T. T. Car- • michael, J. G. W. Aitkcn, M.P., and D. Kobertson. ' Leave of absence was granted to Mr. W. H. Field, M.P. ■ The. Chairman reported a debit balance of .1 ■ £603 4s. Id., and mentioned that the debit ■ balance twelve months ago was £1104 Ib. sd. !*• He stated that the cash in hand, £25, with £282 duo on tho 'morrow, .from the Education Board, would bring tho deficiency down to £301. During the 'month of Juno tho sum of £1009 9s. 4d. would be payable by ;be Education Board for caoitation,' and ho iherofore anticipated that if "the bulk of this .money camc in, tho month would close witli ' a credit balance. He thought the Board. . might fairly bo congratulated on its financial position. ; : Salaries, • £496 18s. 4d., and general ac3oi)iiUb, £146 3s. 2d., were passed for payment. ' ' .. : The Town Clerk'wrote that the City Council v.ould contribute 55., for each candidateentering for the Board's'plumbing examinations. Several, replies wero received to tho Board's advertisements in-; Now. -Zealand newspapers for an assistant art instructor, but as none of tho applicants was considered, suitable, ■, tho : Board resolved to invoke the aid of tho High Commissioner and Mr. "W. Allan, a member . of tho Board, who is now in England, in order to secure a Capable instructor in tho Old Country. "
