BURIED ALIVE.
PEASANT AND A CHILD DIE IN THEIR 1 COFFINS. Ttt-o cases of promaturo burial aro reported from Vienna. Tho first occurred on April 10 l at Mackovicc, GaliciaJ where a sexton was filling «P tho gravo of a peasant, when ho l hoard knocks from within tho coffin. ' Ho rushed away in terror, shouting to tho dis- ' appearing mourners. _ Two of tho mourners returned, and tho lid of tho coffin was b quickly romoved. Tho shod was found to bo torn to shreds, and tho "clenched hands of s tho peasant were bruised. He had, however died before tho lid was .romoved. ' r An inquest was' held, and tho jury returned a verdict of "Suffocated by confine- i: ment in a coffin." In tho second case a child was placed in a, S coffin at Ivrosedal, Hungary, the "day bofor" the funeral, and tho lid was closed.' When C tho lid was temporarily removed next day it was" found that the child had changed its " position, and a doctor who was calicd in jitated that it juat-dipd. a
