The remains of the army of the Sultan Abdul Aziz retreated to Rabat, after half of it had gone over to Mulai Bifid, tho Pretender. Tho Sultan is established at Rabat, on the sea coast, while tcz, ono, of tho important northern cities, has declared for his Half- ' brother and rival, Mulai liafid. The Sultan's nnny iva3 dispatched for l r ez to re-establish there- the authority of Abdul-Aiiz, witli the result described above.' It has repeatedly been atatod that neither party has sufficient monoy to pay his troops.
