—. — annual meeting. , Tlio thirteenth annual meeting of the Wellington. Golf Club was held last evening in Itlie Sydney Street j schoolroom, and was largely attondod. I'lio cantain (Mr. J. B. M'Ewhn), who presided, moved the adoption of ttyj report and balance-sheet, which have already been published in this journal, lie congratulated the Club on its.financial position and 011 the acquisition of the golf links. . Ho expressed appreciation of .the efforts of the lady members in connection with the opening function at the now links. Owing to the cost of labour and other burdens, the financialroso'ureos of the Club would need to bo husbanded. An increase of subscription had been considered, and it probably could not be postponed beyond the current year. Railway concessions which wore expectcd to bo made would reduce tho cost of travelling to and, from the links, and it was, therefore, decided by tho Committee to recommend postponing the increase of subscription until next year. ' Mr. J. We,lister seconded the. resolution. He said he feared it might bo necessary to 6all a special. meeting during tho year 111 order to increase tho subscription.
