In'the l'oppohs diyorce case, in which Mr. l'rendergast, a member of tho Assembly and Loader of thp State Labour party, was mado co-respoiident, tho Court dismissed Mr. Prendergast from the case, with costs against petitioner, holding that there was no evidenco against him. • Petitioner admitted writing a letter withdrawing all tho charges against his wife, and asking compensation from Mr. Preudergast. The ease was brought by William Poppens, aged 54 years, of Station Street, Port Melbourne, ex-hotelkeeper, who sought dissolution of his marriage with Amelia Poppens, aged 50 years, of tho Central Club Hotel, North Melbourne. Tho petitioner alleged misconduct, and sought ,£SOOO damages, from co-respoudont.
