In spite of the wet, the Federal and , the Capital i lacrosse clubs met 011 the Basin Eencrvo on Saturday afternoon, and the play reHalted in a win for tho former by 3 goals to 2. It sneaks volumes for 1 the stamina and enthusiasm of -lacrosse players that they turned up in full numbers anil played all through tho heavy rain and strong wind. The game was made, unusually interesting by tho first appearance of two experienced players, one a champion English player, and the other a fine player from Melbourne. The play was marred by the slippery state of . the ground, but the numerous spectators were treated to a fair exposition of the game.
