Tlio action, of tho .Wellington Association in declaring H. Sandow a professional has been endorsed by tho New Zealand Boxing Council. The New Zealand championships for this yoar have been allotted to tho Christcliurcb Sports Club, and will probably be. held about the middle of August. !; At the annual meeting of' the New Zealand Boxing Council correspondence was received from' the ' Northern Association suggesting that steps be taken to establish an-; nunl championship' competitions betwoen iepresentatiyes of the , various , secondary schools. oh. ; tho : lines of tho English public soh'ools championships. Last season .tho Council asked tho associations to endeavour to iiiduco the authorities of tho secondary schools to-permit boxing to Jio taught. So far this has been brought about in connection with-tho Boys' lligli School and Christ's College at Christchnrch, and it is not unlikely that the Wellington ' institutions will follow suit. It was decided to bring tho matter under tho notice of the associations.
