BENEVOLENT TRUSTEES.

; Tho weekly meeting of the Trustees of the Benevolent .Institution .was' held' yesterday afternoon, tho Rev. W. A. Evans being in tho chair. /Other- trustees present were Mrs. Darvall and Messrs. F. G. .Bolton, D. Robertson, and J. Smith. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. A." W. Hogg, M.P. Accounts amounting to £595 165.-3d. wore, on the recommendation of the Financo Com-' mittee, passed for payment. . It'was decided .that the .Hospitals and Charitable. Aid Bill be discussed by tho Board at its next meeting.' The secretary reported the number of inmates at tho Ohiro Homo.to be 97 (65 males and 32 females), as' compared with 98 for the previous Week. ' . Several cases in connection with tho Ohiro ,Home were'brought under the notice of tho Board. In the case of a man who loft of his own accord, without giving notice, it was decided that if .-ho applied for re-admfssion to the Homo he should be treated as a fresh applicant. Two men wero haled'before the Trustees for infringement of the rules, and, on displaying a proper penitence, wero reprimanded, and their offences overlooked. Cases of irresponsible inmates, who appeared to bb better fitted for admission to a mental hospital, we're also dealt with, and it. was decided that the persons.should; be medically examined and treated in accordance with tho doctors', decision. Applications for relief were also dealt with.
