(BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT), Auokland, May 15.

'A ! statement was recently made in Wellington during discussion by the Industrial Association, to tho effect that thero was.reported to bo a small prospect of a good window display in Auckland in connection with tho. proposed industries week. Seen yostcrday on tlio subject, Mr. J. H. Macltio, secretary of the Auckland Industrial Association, who has tho proposed exhibition in hand, - said that this statement was misleading. The actual position was that there was little prospect of a good window display being mado in June, most of the shopkeepers favouring tho holding of the exhibition during tlio visit of tho American Fleet. "On the other hand, a number supported the idea of having it in June, on tlio ground that a better display could ho made then than later in the season. Mr. Mackie added that 011, tho whole reports as to intending e:;.hibitora .were so far jteri.encoui'asii^j.
